Harmeet Singh
THE ARTIST
About the Artist
Harmeet Singh (b. 1965, Punjab, India) is a contemporary artist whose paintings articulate a meditative dialogue between colour, texture, and the quiet rhythms of nature. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, his compositions unfold as atmospheric fields at once soft and resonant, evoking the subtle interplay of light, memory, and emotional space.
Rooted in an intuitive sensibility, Singh’s work does not attempt to replicate nature but to distill it. Through layered washes, modulated surfaces, and restrained gesture, he transforms fleeting moments; the first shimmer of dawn, the calm after rainfall, the breath between seasons into contemplative visual states. His practice balances spontaneity with deliberate stillness, resulting in canvases that feel both immediate and timeless.

Singh’s works have been exhibited widely across India, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, and have begun gaining international visibility. His acclaimed 2025 solo exhibition “The Four Seasons” at the Bombay Art Society showcased his evolving seasonal palette and meditative abstraction. His paintings were presented at Dubai World Art 2025, furthering his growing global profile.

Internationally, Singh will have a solo show of watercolors with Voghera Gallery in Italy, expanding his presence within the European contemporary art landscape. In addition, his works have been submitted for entery for multiple prestigious juried exhibitions, including the RWS Open 2026, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours 214th Exhibition 2026, The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour Open 2026, and the The 200th Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture Open 2026, marking significant recognition for an Indian abstract painter engaging with global audiences.
His paintings are now held in private collections in India, Europe, and North America. Collectors and curators often describe his work as “poetic minimalism,” where colour becomes a vessel for introspection and emotional recall.

Working from Studio Irises, his personal atelier, Singh continues to push his practice toward larger formats, deeper tonal investigations, and the emotional tensions between presence and absence. Each canvas becomes an interior landscape — an invitation to pause, reflect, and inhabit a colour.
Quietly commanding yet profoundly gentle, Harmeet Singh’s work positions him among the emerging voices in contemporary Indian abstraction, bridging rooted sensibility with universal visual poetry.

Viewpoint
"I am absolutely mesmerized by your unique watercolor style! Allowing the colors to flow freely and then freezing them in place, leaving room for the viewer's imagination to fill in the gaps, is a true mastery of the medium. Your ability to balance control and chaos is remarkable.
Your decision to eschew boundaries and lines, instead embracing the organic flow of color, creates a sense of dynamic energy and movement. And your use of fingers to spread color adds an almost tactile quality to the work, inviting the viewer to touch.
But what's equally impressive is your skill with acrylics. The way you wield a knife and brush to apply color and texture is nothing short of remarkable. Your ability to convey meaning and emotion through your work is a testament to your skill and artistry.
Your unique approach to watercolor and acrylics is a breath of fresh air, and I am in awe of your talent. Keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible with color and medium – I can't wait to see what you create next!"
