Watercolours
Works on paper, various sizes.
Curatorial
This body of work approaches watercolour as a system rather than a medium. Pigment, water, gravity, and time operate as co-authors, producing fields where form emerges through negotiation rather than control. The works resist closure, allowing structures to remain provisional and unstable. Abstraction here functions as inquiry rather than expression, positioning the painted surface as a site where intention meets contingency, and where process remains visibly unresolved.
Context
This ongoing series represents a deliberate departure from conventional interpretations of watercolour. Subtle, textured tonal passages are interrupted by sudden chromatic intensity, testing the medium’s perceived limits of restraint and refinement. The works reflect an experimental approach that moves away from routine or illustrative expectations. This body of watercolours is on permanent display at Studio Irises.
