Veiled Women

This authentic original artwork is hand painted and framed with care and attention to detail. The painting depicts Veiled Women at  the village well carrying out the daily ritual of filing drinking water from the well. The bright veils covering their faces add a drama and mystique to the artwork.  I had been trying to paint them for several hours when in a moment of frustration I put color on  4 fingers of my right hand and ran them down on the wet paper in one single slide. This one slide stroke is the entire painting. 
The painting is made on acid-free, cold pressed, 350 gsm Winsor & Newton paper and uses Winsor and Newton Artist grade, life-long non-fade watercolors. This was made in Dalhousie in the year 1994 and the colors have remained fresh even today after so many years. The artwork is framed with a high-grade frame and acrylic sheet instead of glass, measuring 20" x 15". A stunning piece of artwork that will last for generations.
